Hello. Oh, you hard reset the Omnia already? I hope you were able to backup your data before hand. I was going to give you some suggestions for that. Did you go in and reset those USB to PC settings like before, no disk drive, no advanced network, and yes activesync? Those will get wiped with the hard reset. If it is still not connecting, I have to believe you have some sort of hardware failure with your miniUSB connector or the cable that is preventing the communication required to tell the PC that it is a Samsung Omnia. Believe it or not, even if the phone is looking good in other OSs, the WMDC connection does rely on certain communication pins to be undamaged and have contact. So alot of ppl think their cable is fine because the phone charges, when ultimately they get a new cable and it works. So, that would be my last piece of advice to you if you still want to get the Omnia to work now that you got the android. BTW, congrats on the new phone. Android is a good platform and I'm sure you will like it. It took me a while to get used to it, though.

I'd be interested in finding out what happens when you plug the Omnia into the XP PC at your lab. If it fires up there, there still is a remote chance that the firewall is interfering somehow:
